Vegas Lights is a relatively new quartet, just in their second year. Their experience singing Barbershop varies from 2 to 18 years as members of the SPEBSQSA Society. All four are members of the Las Vegas Metro Chapter and sing with the City of Lights Chorus.
Keith Pratt – Lead became a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society 15 years ago in north central Washington immediately after attending a performance of the “Music Man.” He has been a member in several chorus’ and quartets, and has sung each of the four parts at one time or another. He prefers singing Lead or Baritone.
Randy Preston – Tenor while singing in Church, a Barbershop veteran noticed his singing. Herb called Randy’s wife and asked her what part he sang, all she could think of was that he sang the high part. Herb quickly got him to a meeting and he joined the following meeting. Randy has been singing Barbershop for two years. This is his first quartet.
Walter Straub – Baritone has been involved in music since high school where he played trumpet and sang in a choral group. Walter started singing Barbershop in 2002 and first performed with the City of Lights Chorus in their Christmas program that year.
Herb Craig – Bass like many singers, started singing in Church with his Dad while in grade school. His second grade teacher moved him to the far side of the class singing group, because his voice didn’t fit with the other kids. In high school, he sang in an a cappella chorus; stood in the back row and sang the low bass. In 1990 Herb joined the New MexiChords in Albuquerque, NM, and started singing Barbershop and competed with the New MexiChords at the 1995 and 1996 International Conventions. His introduction to Gospel Barbershop in 1995 by the Good News Quartet was the start of his adventure into quartet singing and his continued love for good gospel harmony.
